South Carolina’s chief state record keeper was honored earlier this month for outstanding service by a nation association of his peers.
The National Association of Secretaries of State awarded the Medallion Award to S.C. Secretary of State Mark Hammond for outstanding service and leadership support, including committee leadership roles.
Hammond highlighted his role in making his agency one of the most business-friendly nationwide in an email statement Wednesday from his campaign account. His office has made available more than 150 business forms online so far in 2017.
The office anticipates receiving more than 75,000 business filings and records requests annually as a result.
“The greatest part about it: This system was developed at no cost to the taxpayers of South Carolina through a partnership with South Carolina Interactive,” Hammond wrote.
